5 Loaves Food Pantry started in 2011, by members of Vine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church giving food to 6 families once a month. Today in 2020 we serve as many as 180 per week.
The 5 Loaves Food Pantry is committed to meeting the spiritual and physical needs of our community through the grace and love of Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that each home served by 5 Loaves Food Pantry would feel the love of Jesus Christ.
The 5 Loaves Food Pantry runs solely on Volunteers. Our Board Consist of 5 Members of Vine Ridge Church. On Thursday we have volunteers from all over come to help separate, box and hand out food to as many as 180 families.
Members of Vine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church started 5 Loaves in 2011. The Church continues to sponsor the food pantry, by providing a facility and water for the food pantry.
Funding for 5LFP comes from either donations from individuals or companies and from grants written by the director. 5LFP also has a memorial program where you can make a donation in memory of loved ones.
All funds are accounted for, with NO amount going to individuals for work that they do at the food pantry. All workers are volunteers.
Our main supply of food comes from Second Harvest Food Bank. We receive food 3 times a month from them for free. We also purchase food such as Meats and staple items when funding is available.
We also receive food from Feed America First (weekly), Feed the Children (Bi-yearly) and Operation Share (Monthly). We also Pick up items from Publix and 3 different Food Lions. Individuals often make donations especially during the holiday seasons. You are welcome to donate non perishable items at any time.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
